The show takes place at Elbrook Meadow, Ashwell, Hertfordshire, SG7 5NE.
There is plenty of free parking on site with a dedicated zone for Blue Badge holders too.
The gates open at 9am. When you arrive early, some traders may still be finishing their setup — but the show is open and there's plenty to see from the moment the gates open. The show officially closes at 5pm.
Yes we accept cards or cash on the gate.
We are unable to refund tickets, but they are transferable. Simply email us with the names of who will be taking them from you on [email protected]

All adults are charged the same price, regardless of age. You can save money by buying your tickets in advance online.
We want everyone to feel welcome at the show. If you have a disability and are bringing a carer with you, simply choose our "adult plus carer" ticket in the ticketing section. You'll pay the standard adult price and your carer comes along completely free. You can book these in advance online or pick them up on the gate on the day — whatever's easiest for you.
Yes please bring your 4-legged friend. You could even enter them into one of the dog classes!
Yes please! And the best news is that your vintage vehicle gets you free entry too. Please register your vehicle in advance at app.ashwellshow.co.uk to let us know that you are coming.
No, entries for the horse show close on 24th August 2026. No entries will be taken on the day, unless you have already pre-entered another class. Please submit your entries before the deadline. For more information, visit our Horse Show page.
We will do our best to make the show as accessible as ever as a community facility, but it depends upon the weather how easy it is to get around.
Yes very much so! There is so much to see and do for our smallest visitors. The messy play tent will keep them occupied for quite some time and it's free! We also have a free circus skills area and then there are loads of rides and slides to help wear them out. And it's free for the under 5's!
We have seating around the main ring and then additional chairs and tables in the WI tent and around the food court area.
The best advice is to check the weather before you go. Please wear appropriate footwear. We would advise closed toe flat, comfortable shoes such as trainers as the going can be heavy if the weather is poor and it can be very dry and hot if the sun shines.
The show goes on! Please dress in line with the conditions, the WI tent and the Bar tent are both fully waterproofed.
Yes, there are many toilets on the show ground.
Yes, there are baby changing toilets available on site.
Yes, we have a drinking water standpipe where you can refill your bottles.
All the portaloos are equipped with sanitisers and we also have sanitiser stations around the showground.
Yes, there will be qualified first aid staff available at a dedicated first aid tent, there should be someone there to help when required.
We will keep hold of any items brought to us for 30 days after the show. After that they will be given to a suitable charity shop.
We don't offer cash back but the vast majority of traders take cards including the Beer Tent, WI Marquee and rides and slides.
Yes, we have a huge range of food vendors coming to the show. From pizza to pies, all diets are catered for.
Yes, but please remember to drink responsibly and don't drink and drive.
Yes, absolutely you can bring your own food and drink, including your own picnic.
