It is with regret and a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel this year’s Ashwell Show. We are working in unprecedented times and although we are a very merry band, we are nonetheless all volunteers. To be put this show on with only a few months’ notice would be a mammoth task and one we are not sure of being able to complete. We are at the stage where we would have to start committing funds and suppliers and, for all our sakes, we would rather not venture down this path. We will be back in 2021 for a bigger, better and even more exciting show especially as it’ll be our centenary year.
Run entirely by volunteers, Ashwell Show is fast reaching its 100th year. In recent years we have revamped and redesigned the whole show to cater for all ages and tastes

The photo above was taken by renown local photographer Chris Fraser Smith and this is what he said;
"Delighted to have a photograph selected for this years prestigious Communications Arts Photography Awards. This was shot over the Ashwell Show, Hertfordshire, in August 2017 on a summers day.
Of the 3,401 entries submitted to the 59th annual photography competition, only 127 were selected by a jury of respected creative professionals, representing the work of photographers, videographers, design firms, agencies, publishers and in-house creative departments."

All profits from the Show (aside funds needed to run the event the following year) are donated to local charities and community organisations.
Over the years we have donated £100,000s to many different organisations from Playgroup to the PTA, the kids football team and the retirement home.
