ashwell show

Here you will find everything you need to know about this
fabulous fun-filled family day out.

The show will be held on August Bank Holiday Monday 27 August 2012, 8.30am – 5pm

Equestrian rings start at 8.30am and continue all day.  Main ring & attractions ring events run from 12 noon.

Now in its 90th year, Ashwell show is one of the longest running country shows in the area and the largest in North Hertfordshire achieving up to 10,000 visitors on the single show day. No mean feat when you consider there are only 1,700 people in this picturesque North Hertfordshire Village of the Year 2010

Last year saw another great day enjoyed by all and the usual highlights including the horse events, dog shows, vintage cars and tractors, superb tradestands and visitors were able to experience a piece of Roman history through the fantastic spectacle that is the Devil’s Horsemen Chariots, witness the amazing skills of the Chainsaw carver and enjoy fabulous Falconry skills, amongst other attractions.

Due to the success of the craft demonstration and free messy play tent in 2010, this was repeated and expanded to offer even more free attractions to visitors, including the resident Merchant Taylors flock and spinners as well as face painting for the little ones. A number of new attractions were introduced such as water zorbing plus an entertainment area. Professional singer Phil Hobbis kindly agreed to compere the ‘stage’ and we saw great performances from him, Raqs Sharqi belly dancers, Electralite Majorettes alongside other local talent. The crowds seemed to enjoy themselves and could also keep warm boogying! Visit the photo gallery to see some of the highlights.

This year is set to be another fantastic show – watch this space for more details coming soon and confirmed attractions!
